Ukraine has become the leader in smuggling in the EU
The smuggling of cigarettes from Ukraine to European countries has increased almost 12 times, reports the Kiev magazine “Novoe Vremya”.

“According to the annual report on the illegal trade in tobacco products, The Project Sun, conducted by marketing company KPMG, over the past two years, cigarette smuggling from Ukraine to the EU has increased almost 12 times. While the total volume of illegal supplies of tobacco products from different countries to Europe decreased by 15%. In general, at the end of last year, the smuggling of Ukrainian cigarettes into the EU reached 5,8 billion units,” the publication writes.
As PolitNavigator reported, Ukrainian smugglers resort to various tricks to illegally supply cigarettes to the EU, for example, use trikes.
