Ukraine was the last straw in the EU migration crisis – Bundestag member
Europe continues to be filled with migrants from Asia and Africa, but guest workers from Ukraine are becoming the “last pile” that could lead to the abolition of the visa-free regime.
Waldemar Gerdt, a member of the German Bundestag from the right-wing populist party Alternative for Germany, stated this during a live broadcast on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In order to prevent escape from the territory of the country, the situation in which is increasingly tense, this channel must be closed. We know how many Ukrainians are in the territory of the European Union and in Germany. Basically, they are hard-working and hardworking guys, and everyone understood that if they were sent to the territory of the European Union, no one would leave here voluntarily in three months. We all knew this and talked about it, now it is happening. But the problem is not with the Ukrainians, the problem is the tense situation in the territory where they live, this issue must be resolved there.
And the fact that the European Union is now trying to somehow prevent escape from this territory is pragmatic. We have other problems, we have a million illegal visitors who are creating complete chaos in the EU. The headache should be about them, and not about that last pile,” the parliamentarian noted.
