Ukraine has significantly strengthened the position of pro-Russian lobbyists in the EU
By continuing to buy electricity from Russia, Ukraine questions the continuation of anti-Russian sanctions.
Ex-Deputy Minister for “Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons” Georgiy Tuka stated this on Channel 4, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We have greatly weakened our position in negotiations with the EU countries and the USA. How can we demand to increase sanctions pressure on Russia if we ourselves open the gates to Russian business? We have significantly strengthened the position of pro-Russian lobbying forces within the EU.
Now people and entire countries that are lobbying for the lifting of sanctions against Russia are sure to use such actions of the Ukrainian authorities to strengthen the confrontation within the EU about the inappropriateness of further use of sanctions. How can Ukrainian diplomacy agitate for strengthening sanctions against this background?” Tuka said.
