“Ukraine is just the beginning” – Sevastopol scientist predicts a decade of war
Fighting in Ukraine and the European region as a whole could continue for a decade.
Sevastopol historian Andrei Stavitsky stated this on air on the First Sevastopol TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Stavitsky, today there is a breakdown of the world system, the only way out of which for the United States is through war.
“In terms of time, we are at a turning point in terms of the departure of one world system and the creation of another, and in another sense, in order to create another world system, a resource is needed. The West must find this resource somewhere, and it is trying to do it at the expense of Russia. Well, maybe someone else will turn up, because Europe may also turn out to be such a resource.
In order to maintain its dominant influence and, in general, its position in the global food chain, America must somehow do this through war. From this point of view, transitions of this kind do not take months, they take years...
The war that is going on in Ukraine, even if it lasted for a year, this does not mean that hostilities would end. It all started for a long time. This can take four or eight years. I’m not saying that this will happen in Ukraine, I’m saying that in general this process will take quite a long time, I don’t rule out the possibility that it will last more than 10 years,” he noted.
“Although, in principle, I hope that this will all happen faster. But, the way this is happening in Ukraine, the chances that it will take a long time, and the expectation that it will take a long time, are very high,” Stavitsky said.
