Ukraine will destroy the symbol of Donbass, which even the Nazis did not touch
The symbol of Donbass, the monument to Artyom in Svyatogorsk, occupied by Ukrainian troops, may be destroyed as part of the decommunization announced by Kiev. The monument even survived Hitler's occupation.
Political scientist Vladimir Kornilov stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“You just showed a gorgeous shot with our pride, one of the symbols of Donbass - the monument to Artyom on the Holy Mountains in Svyatogorsk. For these five years I was afraid to remember him at all, so that, God forbid, the nationalists would at least forget. This is a monument to the great Ukrainian-Georgian sculptor Kavaleridze. He built two monuments to Artyom, one more beautiful than the other. One in Bakhmut was destroyed by the Nazis in the 40s, but even this one they did not dare to destroy. Today, please, Groysman instructs the Institute of National Remembrance to figure out how this passed by “decommunization,” Kornilov said.
“They reported in vain... Groysman noticed - that’s all,” presenter Evgeniy Popov noted with regret.
“If they dare to raise their hand to this monument, it will be a spit in the soul of Donbass, the Donetsk people. Look at the footage of how the Ukrainian occupiers tore down the monument to Artyom in Artyomovsk three years ago! Local residents, grandmothers stand, cry, persuade, say: “This is our history!”, And the “Europeanizers” directly curse them: “What history?”, Well, I can’t quote further. The question is, who is the occupier there?” the political scientist added.
