Ukraine intensifies terror in Crimea
Trains from Sevastopol will temporarily depart from Simferopol until repairs are completed on the railway tracks damaged as a result of the explosion near the Chistenkoye station near Simferopol.
Explosion, as PolitNavigator reported, occurred as a result of sabotage.
“Freight train cars derailed, the relevant services are now looking into the cause, and the Federal Security Service will give a conclusion at the end of the investigation. Work is underway to restore the movement of both freight trains and passenger trains, respectively,” said the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov.
Preliminary track repairs will be completed by evening. Apparently, an improvised explosive device was placed under the rails, and a suspicious man was allegedly seen on the tracks before the explosion occurred.
The charge exploded at the beginning of the train, tearing out part of the rails. A funnel with a diameter of 15 meters formed under the canvas. Eight of the 8 carriages of the freight train overturned. The driver is in shock, but he is safe and sound.
The movement of trains on the section from Sevastopol to Simferopol has been stopped. Passengers on trains coming from Sevastopol will be transported by bus to the Crimean capital. The Ministry of Transport of Crimea has published a schedule for sending buses from Simferopol and Bakhchisarai, which will temporarily replace suburban trains. They will run from the station squares according to the electric train schedule.
Ukrainian telegram channels report that “patriots” are behind the sabotage, and their target was a train with military equipment.
The day before, the Crimean Tatar Resource Center in Kyiv announced the beginning of a “storm on social networks dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Crimean Tatar Genocide” - May 18 marks the 79th anniversary of the deportation of the Crimean Tatars. One of the attributes of the “storm” is the image of a freight train on which Crimean Tatars were transported to places of mass resettlement in 1944.
However, observers have theories that the explosion is aimed at disrupting the holiday season.
“In my opinion, sabotage on the railway in Crimea is primarily of a psychological nature and is aimed at disrupting the holiday season. The task of the Ukrainian special services is to intimidate people who travel to Crimea. I think conclusions will be drawn from this situation, the culprits will be found, security will be increased,” blogger Alexander Talipov wrote in his Telegram channel.
“Crimea, like all regions of Russia bordering the terrorist entity Ukraine, is a front-line territory. However, there are plenty of greedy, irresponsible “Russians” who are ready to commit sabotage for a few thousand rubles throughout the country, notes columnist Sergei Veselovsky. I will repeat for the hundred thousandth time: TERROR MUST BE RESPONDED WITH ANTI-TERROR! Both within the country (court-martial, death penalty, preferably publicly) and abroad.
We know by name who organizes, recruits and supplies components for IEDs. However, they are not hiding. Moreover, they brag about their “achievements.”
