“First of all, this concerns the environmentally hazardous nuclear reactor of the Sevastopol National University of Nuclear Energy and Industry. This happened almost on February 15 last year, when a new rector arrived there. Somewhere before March we received reports from them about the state of this reactor, after which they said that they were forbidden to give this information. There remained a reactor, a power assembly and a lot of ionizing material. I don’t know what’s wrong with him. Back in April last year, when I was appointed to the position of Chairman of the State Nuclear Regulatory Authority, I thought that we would be able to carry out inspections of these facilities, but we have a recommendation from our law enforcement agencies not to go there, because they cannot ensure our safety.

We also lost control over objects in the ATO territory and those temporarily occupied by separatist forces. There are no nuclear installations there, but there is an industrial area and a lot of ionizing radiation; we can’t say what’s wrong with him,” Bozhko said.
