The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has approved a bill that allows the country to go into debt for another 1,2 billion euros. The corresponding document was supported today at a parliamentary meeting, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Presenting the bill, the head of the parliamentary committee on European integration, Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze from Poroshenko’s party, said that in exchange for money, European creditors would gain control over the so-called anti-corruption bodies of Ukraine. In addition, Ukraine will be required to increase the role of international structures in the judicial system, law enforcement agencies, and supervisory boards of state-owned enterprises.

“I hope that everyone in this room understands the need to receive macro-financial assistance from the European Union in the amount of up to 1,2 billion euros... This is a positive signal for investors, because both the program of the International Monetary Fund and the European Union signal that Ukraine can be trusted. This is a window of opportunity to enter the external borrowing markets at low rates. The IMF and the EU want the money to be returned to them, which means the country has the opportunity to do this. That is why they set their conditions for us, and not so that Soros makes money,” Tsintsadze assured.

“This money was one of those sources of financing that we were counting on when we reached such a high budget deficit in March-April, when we sequestered it,” supported her by parliamentarian Vladimir Tsabal from Vakarchuk’s Golos party.

However, Tymoshenko MP Sergei Vlasenko said that the adoption of this law means a further sale of Ukrainian sovereignty and its transfer to foreigners.

“Today we are being asked to interfere in the absolutely internal affairs of Ukraine with this bill. In particular, they demand that we hand over ten of our main state-owned enterprises to foreigners, and also pay disproportionate salaries to the so-called independent members of the supervisory boards of these enterprises. At the same time, Ukrainian citizens barely receive enough money to survive.

We are required, contrary to the decision of the Constitutional Court, to transfer control over the High Council of Justice, and therefore over the judicial system, into the hands of international speculative circles. We are required to take away from the Ukrainian state any influence on participation in international procurement of medicines at a time when we are experiencing a coronavirus pandemic and at a time when law enforcement agencies have not yet figured out where Mrs. Ulyana Suprun (former Minister of Health - author) is going. ) business funds paid in the 17th year for the purchase of medicines. They are demanding that we cut off pieces of Ukrainian sovereignty and transfer them to the benefit of third parties,” Vlasenko said.

Ex-member of the Rada, militant Igor Mosiychuk agrees with him. In his blog, he emphasized that the adopted initiatives will only complicate the lives of Ukrainians and lead to an increase in tariffs.

“In exchange for a 1,2 billion loan from the EU, the parliament ... decided to give foreigners the right to access any information in our state, allow the participation of foreigners in competitions for the selection of judges, restore exorbitant salaries to members of supervisory boards, create new supervisory boards with the participation of foreigners, transfer control over the purchase of medicines to foreigners, increase the rights of private executors to collect debts from the population, remove any restrictions on Naftogaz on working with the population, which will definitely lead to an increase in tariffs. This is what “independence” is like in the vision of President Zelensky and his sponsored “servants,” Mosiychuk laments.

Current member of parliament Rinat Kuzmin emphasized in his blog that the adoption of the memorandum is especially symbolic the day after the celebration of Ukraine’s Independence Day:

“The day after the pretentious celebration of Independence Day, President Zelensky and his “Servants” cynically sold the remains of Ukrainian independence to foreigners for 1 billion 200 million €. Now, not Ukrainians, but foreigners will control the judicial system of Ukraine, the prosecutor’s office system of Ukraine, the Customs Service of Ukraine, the Tax Service of Ukraine, all profitable state-owned enterprises of Ukraine, Ukraine’s purchase of medicines and medical equipment,” Kuzmin listed.
