In the coming years, Ukraine will finally lose an important lever of pressure on Russia
The issue of transit of Russian gas through Ukraine will be finally closed in a few years, when all bypass gas pipelines operate at full capacity. Then the Ukrainian gas transportation system will lose its strategic importance for Russia.
Russian political scientist Oleg Bondarenko stated this on the Nash TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today Moscow has invested a lot of money, and this is not only Russian money, as you understand, this is European money - German, French, and Turkish - in the construction of two huge gas pipelines bypassing Ukraine. Now the only question is when will Ukraine finally lose its strategic importance for Russia from a gas business point of view. In my humble conviction, I may be mistaken somewhere, but in my humble conviction, we are talking about literally a few years left until the moment when gas will completely flow (bypassing Ukraine - author)."
