The massive purchase of drones from Turkey threatens the national security of Ukraine, because Ankara can at any time gain access and disable all UAVs sold to Kyiv.
Director of the research and production enterprise Aviation Systems of Ukraine Konstantin Pozhidaev spoke about this in an interview with the YouTube channel UkrLife TV, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I would like to note that any high-tech equipment is, first of all, brains, programs that control these brains, and computer codes. I very much doubt that with the transfer of equipment, Turkey gave us access codes to the control programs of these UAVs.
In other words, the keys to this equipment are in Turkish hands. If we assume that Turkey may become a party to the conflict in Ukraine, then at any moment, by means of satellite communications or the Internet, we may be turned off or limited in the use of complex and expensive equipment in a potential conflict with Ukraine.
Therefore, each party that is interested in its security develops software on its own territory,” he noted.
