Ukraine is one step away from a nuclear disaster – ex-governor of Zaporozhye
In the Zaporozhye region, all spent uranium storage facilities are full, because Ukraine itself terminated the corresponding contract with Russia.
Ex-Minister of Transport and Communications, former Verkhovna Rada deputy Evgeniy Chervonenko spoke about this on the Nash TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Why are we silent that we broke the nuclear waste agreement with Krasnoyarsk, with Russia? And such a problem is brewing, I say this as the governor of the Zaporozhye region, where the storage facilities for spent uranium, which is wildly radioactive, are already overflowing,” Chervonenko said.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier Kyiv analysts called the agreement signed by Zelensky with Washington on the construction of 4 new units for Ukrainian nuclear power plants worth $30 billion non-binding for the USA.
According to experts, there is no money even for the completion of old power units at the Khmelnytsky NPP.
