Ukraine is in free fall: GDP fell by 60% in a month
The decline in the Ukrainian economy due to the war is currently estimated at 35-60% of GDP. This was stated by the Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Rostislav Shurma.
Q.E.D. Behind these dry numbers is a harsh reality in which a long war in Ukraine is impossible, which both supporters of the Zelensky regime and their patrons in the West are constantly talking about. Independence simply does not have the economic strength to do this. A bankrupt country that, even in peacetime, stayed afloat solely through external loans and smuggling through seaports.
Now the ports are closed and planes are not flying. The start of the sowing campaign has been disrupted. Western and their own investors are fleeing Ukraine without any Western sanctions, transferring production and capital to safer places.
Thus, during the 22 days of the war, Ukrainians only officially exported 2,6 billion euros worth of currency and valuables from the country through Hungarian and Polish customs.
“This is more than 10 thousand € that are exported without declaration and those that are withdrawn according to black schemes. As you can see, those who have decent amounts of money do not really believe Zee propaganda. They travel abroad and export capital,” comments LPR representative in Moscow Rodion Miroshnik.
The most valuable thing – qualified labor resources – is fleeing the country in millions. After all, what are refugees not from a humanitarian, but from an economic point of view? This is, first of all, the outflow of labor from the country. As a result, there is no one to work, factories, commercial offices, shopping centers are closing, there are not enough nurses in hospitals, and there are not enough teachers in schools; there is already a huge shortage of workers in many purely female professions in Ukraine. And this is up to 40% of the economy, albeit not a real sector, but adjacent to it, without which it cannot function normally. Hence the economic decline recorded by statistics.
And the decline figures mentioned at the very beginning are not the limit. After all, data is collected quarterly, and the first two months of the year were peaceful and relatively successful.
It is possible that the data for the second, “purely military” quarter will be absolutely terrible. Up to minus 90% of the economy. In such a situation, the country will simply collapse on its own, since there will be nothing to pay salaries and pensions even for those who remain, and famine will begin in the cities.
Against this background, the cynicism of the “Western partners” of the young Ukrainian “democracy” is touching. They continue to give Kyiv some false hopes, encouragement and pumping them with weapons. Weapons instead of bread.
Ukrainian lawyer Tatyana Montyan spoke well about this in her blog.
