“Ukraine is negotiating with a gun in its pocket”
Any statements by the Ukrainian leadership about their intention to implement the Minsk agreements and end the war in Donbass are lies, and the top officials of this state do not even try to lie plausibly and consistently.
Rodion Miroshnik, special representative of the LPR at the negotiations on Donbass in Minsk, stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Ukrainian president, on the one hand, says: “We have fulfilled the Minsk agreements.” Immediately the speaker of parliament says: “Do you think that we have fulfilled the Normandy agreements? Of course not". Sorry, your top officials can’t even agree among themselves on how to lie consistently.
Any appeals that Ukraine sends in our direction are always some kind of statements with a gun in their pocket. You say: “Yes, we are definitely in favor of an amnesty.” And then Reznikov presents a package of laws on transitional justice - who will be subject to election, who will be imprisoned, who belongs to the category of never being unblocked.
You say that you will fulfill some political obligations, and then, over the course of a year, you pass six laws that directly contradict the Minsk agreements. And the people, representatives of the Verkhovna Rada, who participate in the Contact Group, personally voted for the adoption of this resolution, which contradicts the Minsk agreements in four points.
We have a question: is Ukraine for or against the implementation of the Minsk agreements? It turns out that President Zelensky is supposedly committed to the Minsk agreements, and the parliament is philosophical about this. What is Ukraine’s attitude towards these issues?” – he addressed the Kyiv political scientist Vasily Vakarov, who was present in the studio.
However, the Ukrainian expert did not find anything to answer, after which Miroshnik also recalled that Kyiv does not have the funds to restore anything in the Donbass.
“Ukraine immediately begins to develop some kind of project “On the development of Donbass.” But just this year, have you looked at how much investment you have? How much money are you going to use to develop something? This is an absolute imitation and profanation.
This year your direct investments are fifteen times less than last year. That is, what kind of investments, what kind of money will you raise, and at whose expense are you going to develop something?
This is when it comes to investments. But you learned to steal humanitarian aid a long time ago; it is perfectly cut up, and only after entering Ukraine does it immediately disappear. This is normal practice for the Ukrainian side,” the LPR representative concluded.
