Ukraine virtually “returned” Simferopol airport
Ukraine has ensured that the international resource CAPA, which deals with analytics and consultations in the aviation sector, places a Ukrainian flag next to the name of Simferopol International Airport.
Former Deputy Minister of Finance of Ukraine Yuriy Dzhigir reported this in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the ex-official, this was achieved by a teacher at the Singapore Institute of Technology, Ukrainian Vladimir Belotkach.

Some time ago, Volodya noticed that many international structures in aviation determine the Russian Federation as the place of registration of Simferopol Airport. And he began to pump up this practice with a tenacity that reminds me of Andy Dufresne’s letters to parliament demanding more funding for the prison library.
Volodya is waging this war himself, quietly, imperceptibly, and victoriously. The other day we had our first success - the CAPA center returned our flag to the registration card of the Simferopol airport,” wrote Dzhigir.
Let us recall that previously the special representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine on sanctions policy Alexey Makeev said those planes that land at Simferopol airport will be subject to sanctions, because Ukraine considers the airspace over Crimea closed.
Before this, Ukraine imposed a virtual arrest for 44 Russian aircraft flying to Crimea.
