Ukraine, together with Ukrainians, is a ready battlefield in case of a “hot” war
Russia and the West may move from confrontation to a hot phase of conflict, and this poses a problem for Ukraine, since it is a ripe battlefield.
The head of the Interfax-Ukraine news agency, Alexander Martynenko, stated this on air on the Ukrlife.TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I would hate to, but this option may be lying on someone’s desk somewhere. This is the logic of war - not confrontation, as it used to be, not economic and military competition, as it used to be, it was a different story that has to do with Russia. What I see now is a transition from the logic of containment, confrontation and competition - to the logic of war, still soft, still informational, psychological and political, and so on.
But she can’t be like this for long, it will inevitably go further. And we have a problem, because we are one of the points where this confrontation happened before. Therefore, we are a ready battlefield. There is no need to create it, it already exists. I am sure that some new areas will appear in different countries of the world, different hot spots, this is inevitable.
And the main thing is to think about what we will do if this one day turns into a hot phase, or into a warm one, which doesn’t bode well for us either,” said Alexander Martynenko.
