Ukraine armed India with $400 million
Over three years, Ukrainian enterprises of the military-industrial complex exported military products worth about $400 million to India, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was announced by the General Director of the state concern Ukroboronprom Pavel Bukin in an interview with Defense World.
According to Bukin, half of this amount - $200 million - came from the Nikolaev state enterprise Zorya-Mashproekt, which specializes in the production of gas turbines for ships.
He also spoke about the future plans of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex for cooperation with India.
“We are considering the issue of providing services for the repair and modernization of the Indian aircraft fleet, the general development of aviation technology, the promotion of Ukrainian high-precision weapons, and joint projects in the field of communications, which are promising areas in MTS with India,” he said.
Bukin noted that during 2017, the Spetstechnoexport company alone signed new contracts totaling more than $35 million. And annually the company supplies products worth $65 million to India on average.
As reported on the Ukroboronprom website, Ukraine is now taking part in the 10th international military exhibition Defexpo India-2018, where it presents its promising defense developments.
Among the presented developments, in particular: BTR-3E1, combat modules “Shkval”, “Kastet”, “Stiletto”, air-to-air missiles, protective equipment for aircraft and helicopters.
