Ukraine is increasingly irritating the EU – Kyiv diplomat
Statements by European politicians about language laws in Ukraine and the futility of joining the EU indicate a complete failure of the Kyiv government and disappointment with Ukraine as such on the European continent.

Ex-speaker of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, diplomat Vasily Filipchuk said this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports. According to him, the European Union has done everything it promised for Ukraine, but in return it receives only new demands.
“This reaction is the result of a certain degree of irritation and fatigue in the European Union. Including from using the EU not as a means of reform, but as a means of political PR. Look, Juncker, the President of the European Commission, a few weeks ago made a harsh statement that “I know that President Poroshenko says that the country is in the EU, but I want to inform you that this is not the case.” It’s clear that he played with words a little there, but it was impossible to imagine such harsh statements a few years ago. In the address of the same President of the European Commission to the European Parliament on the situation in the EU there is not a word about Ukraine. They talk about expansion, about the Balkans, the USA, Australia and New Zealand, but not a word about Ukraine,” the diplomat noted.
According to him, regarding Ukraine in the EU there is a “very high level of fatigue and irritation.”
“When, instead of demonstrating results, we only demand and use the EU for our own PR. I quote my interlocutors from the European Commission with whom I spoke at the “Yalta Conference”, they all say: “That’s it, on our part, we did everything that we had to do to Ukraine. Look, we have given you a visa-free regime, significant financial assistance, sanctions against Russia have been continued, the Association Agreement has come into force. Now, over the course of several years, we want to see how Ukraine fulfills its responsibilities,” said Filipchuk.
