Ukraine is alarmed: Russia begins serial production of dangerous missiles
In the fall, the Russian Armed Forces will intensify missile attacks on the territory of Ukraine.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports that Brigadier General Alexei Gromov, Deputy Chief of the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated this at a briefing in Kyiv.
“It should be noted that according to available data, in June of this year the Russian Federation plans to begin serial production of strategic air-launched cruise missiles of the X-50 type, which will allow the Kremlin to intensify missile attacks on the territory of our country in the fall,” Gromov said.
This news alarmed the Ukrainian media.
“According to the Russians’ expectations, their new X-50 cruise missile will supposedly be able to hit targets at a range of up to 1,5 thousand kilometers. In 2017, it was reported that production of the X-50 was planned to be launched as part of the new Russian state arms program,” writes RBC-Ukraine.
It is noted that the X-50 will be equipped with a self-defense system, including a small electronic jamming station and towed decoys.
It is alleged that this missile, depending on the warhead, “will be able to hit protected targets (for example, bunkers) or objects that occupy a large area (for example, airfields or warehouses).”
