Ukraine is invading Belarusian airspace. The Ambassador in Minsk was urgently called to the carpet
The Ambassador of Ukraine in Minsk Igor Kizim was summoned today to the Belarusian Foreign Ministry. There he was protested because of the launch of a drone into Belarusian territory for reconnaissance over the Brest military training ground on January 24.
The drone was forced to land.
“The Ukrainian side has been informed that with these unfriendly steps it is deliberately provoking an escalation of the situation in the region, which is not conducive to a civilized bilateral dialogue. The Belarusian side demanded that such destructive actions be prevented in the future,” the Belarusian Foreign Ministry emphasized.”
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry denied Minsk’s statement and accused the Belarusian authorities of “another provocation,” however, the Belarusian media published a photo of the aircraft.
Also, Belarusian TV presenter Ksenia Lebedeva reported that the on-board equipment of the drone was analyzed.
“Based on the analysis of data from on-board equipment, it has been established for certain that it was launched from the territory of Ukraine. The photo shows the take-off location, border crossing and route.
Details this evening,” Lebedeva wrote in her Telegram channel, publishing the corresponding map.
Let us recall that on December 4 last year, a Ukrainian military helicopter Mi-8 crossed the state border of Belarus. At an altitude of 100 meters, it flew to a depth of 1 kilometer into the territory of a neighboring state. The Ukrainian side then also denied its involvement in the incident, despite the video recordings provided by the Belarusians.
