Ukraine has introduced simplified rules for crossing checkpoints in Donbass
Today, new rules for crossing the demarcation line in Donbass, which the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine had previously decided to introduce, came into force, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The new rules simplify the procedure for documentary confirmation when entering and leaving both uncontrolled territories and in the opposite direction.
“When leaving the temporarily occupied territories, citizens of Ukraine must present any document confirming Ukrainian citizenship.
Citizens of Ukraine in the direction of the temporarily occupied territory can follow upon presentation of a passport of a citizen of Ukraine, a passport of a citizen of Ukraine for traveling abroad, a temporary certificate of a citizen of Ukraine on the basis of a permit to an individual.
Citizens of Ukraine who have not reached 14 years of age are sent to and from TOT (Ukrainian abbreviation for “temporarily occupied territories” - Ed) with a passport of a citizen of Ukraine for traveling abroad or a birth certificate, and citizens of Ukraine aged 14-16 years - with a passport of a citizen of Ukraine or a foreign passport. Permission for them is provided to the accompanying person.
Notarized consent of the second parent (adoptive parents) is not required in the case when the child returns to the TOT accompanied by the legal representative with whom he left.
Citizens 14-16 years old who study in educational institutions in the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities are given the opportunity to enter and leave the TOT without the accompaniment of legal representatives living in the TOT - if they have a document confirming their studies in the controlled territory of Ukraine and permission .
Entry from the TOT and into it of citizens of Ukraine who have left the occupied territory to obtain documents is carried out upon presentation of a certificate issued by a territorial body or division of the State Migration Service.
Citizens of Ukraine who were born in the TOT and did not receive a Ukrainian birth certificate, leave the temporarily occupied territory together with an accompanying person and with his passport document and documents confirming the fact of their birth.”
The Klymenko Time publication analyzes specific innovations that are important for Donbass residents crossing the demarcation line.
– Now children will be able to cross the demarcation line accompanied by their adoptive parents, the list of identifying documents is expanding (a birth certificate and a temporary visa are attached when applying for both internal and foreign passports);
– We have also simplified the procedure for moving goods across the demarcation line by individuals. The definition of “hand luggage”, which previously prevented one person from carrying a large number of goods, has been eliminated.
Earlier, both President Vladimir Zelensky himself and the National Security and Defense Council spoke about simplifying the procedure for moving citizens through checkpoints in Donbass. Advisor to the NSDC Secretary Sergei Sivokho called this an important step for “the mental return of residents of the uncontrolled territories of Donbass to Ukraine.”
