As Prime Minister of Ukraine Arsenia Yatsenyuk explained, it is proposed to introduce an additional import tax temporarily, for a period of 12 months.
“This bill is not so much about fiscal as it is about balancing the balance of payments. We import more than we export,” the prime minister said.
At the same time, no additional import tax is imposed on natural gas, coal, fuel oil, medicines, medical products necessary for hemodialysis and cancer patients, etc.
Let us note that this project even before its adoption caused a critical reaction from the European Business Association. At the same time, during today’s discussion in the session hall, Yatsenyuk said that the bill had been agreed upon with partners.
256 deputies voted for the proposed bill with amendments.
