Ukraine has become a world record holder for suicides among military personnel
Every day in the United States, 22 combat veterans commit suicide, while in Ukraine - 5 soldiers a week.
Vladimir Gavrilov, Major General of the Reserve, Ukrainian Defense Attache in the United States, stated this on air on the UkrLife TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As of 2017, 22 veterans a day commit suicide in the United States. I asked the Americans several times. It’s official for them, they know about it,” said the military attache.
The general said that the peak for Ukraine was 5 suicides per week among former participants in the so-called anti-terrorist operation or joint forces operation.
“When we reached the peak of 5 suicides per week, the press began to talk about it and pay attention. For us, we are smaller than America, we have a very specific attitude towards people, we take it very emotionally. This raised a lot of questions for us. America also had many questions at one time,” Gavrilov noted.
We would like to remind you that PolitNavigator previously reported that under the doors of the Lutsk City Council An ATO officer tried to set himself on fire while protesting against the distribution of funds for a rehabilitation center for Ukrainian militants in favor of the city school.
