Ukraine has chosen a course towards poverty
The economic model imposed by the IMF on Kyiv is unacceptable for the successful development of Ukraine.
Kiev political scientist Vasily Stoyakin stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Our president constantly talks about how the state budget has dramatically increased after the “Revolution of Dignity.” In general, formally it has become larger, but the standard of living of the population is falling. The main reason is the wrong economic strategy,” said Stoyakin.
“Firstly, Ukraine is a traditionally industrial-agrarian country, and industry plays a big role. Secondly, there are no “agrarian superpowers”. Any country that focuses on agriculture and mining still remains poor. It is necessary to produce products that have a high share of added value, high-tech products. There are opportunities for this in Ukraine. But the economic and political line that we have chosen now, at the prompting of the IMF, leads in a completely different direction,” the political scientist admitted.
