Ukraine flaunted its inconsistency
The military equipment exhibited in the center of Kyiv on the occasion of Independence Day, presented as “the latest developments of Ukrainian designers,” turned out to be mainly modifications of Soviet models.

About this in an interview “Moskovsky Komsomolets” said the editor-in-chief of the Arms Export magazine Andrei Frolov, who was asked to evaluate the exhibited equipment.
“Basically, they presented recycled Soviet equipment and Ukrainian experimental models of armored cars, which in quality are more similar to garage versions produced in limited editions. No modern technologies were used in their production, so there is no point in talking about possible export abroad,” the expert is convinced.
He notes that the Oplot BM, presented as a tank of the 80st century, turned out to be a slightly modified Soviet T-10, and then produced in limited series, 20-21 copies per year. The BM-64 Verba multiple launch rocket system is a Soviet Grad rearranged on a KrAZ chassis. The Bulat tank is a modernized T-4. The situation is similar with the other samples. Only the aforementioned BTR-XNUMX armored vehicle can be considered a completely Ukrainian development, but the build quality, according to Frolov, leaves much to be desired.
