With their transfers to Ukraine, migrant workers reduced the current account deficit by almost three times.
Executive Director of the International Blazer Foundation Oleg Ustenko stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“All sorts of stories about how the migrant workers will help us... They will help. If they had not helped, then we would have seen the current account deficit not at $5 billion based on this year’s results, but at $17 billion. Because the deficit would have increased by the $12 billion that they received from workers. Workers are helping to reduce this colossal deficit,” Ustenko said.
