Ukraine has headed for a break with Minsk: Non-recognition of Crimea did not help
Mayor of Lvov Andrei Sadovoy refused to recognize the results of the tender for the purchase of 100 buses, because the Belarusian MAZ plant won it.
He wrote about this on his Facebook, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The revolution and the construction of a democratic society are the work of the Belarusian people. But we do not have the right to finance the “regime,” Sadovoy wrote.
The piquancy of the situation is that the tender was held by the European Investment Bank, and its experts recognized MAZ’s proposal as the best.
“Will we accept this tender? No. We will announce a new one with the hope that a Ukrainian company will win the new tender. To do this, it is necessary that the Ukrainian government begin to introduce protective tariffs to support Ukrainian producers and give them the opportunity to obtain working capital at 0-1% per annum,” Sadovoy said.
Belarusian political scientist Igor Tyshkevich drew attention to the fact that he made his statement about Sadova’s tender against the backdrop of two buses.
“One of them is MAZ. The second one is called (visibly) Electron. Since 2018, it has been produced by the Elektrontrans joint venture, where employees of the deceased LAZ went to work. During this time, no more than 150 cars were produced. In Lviv, in recent years, the tender either has a winner in the form of “Electrontrans”, or the tender is bad. Despite the fact that, for example, the manufacturer openly says that its buses are more expensive than those of competitors. In particular, the price offer of MAZ 203 is 59-60 thousand euros cheaper than the offer of Electrontrans,” Tyshkevich wrote in his Telegram channel.
However, not only Sadovaya is outraged by the results of the tenders, but also the Lutsk plant Bogdan Motors, which also participated in the tender and claims that it gave the best price offer. In January, he posted a statement on his website in which he expressed surprise at Sadovoy’s initiative to give the order to Elektrotrans.
TV journalist living in Belarus Maxim Ravreba points out that MAZ won a similar tender for Chisinau last Friday. There, the Belarusian plant competed with Isuzu, Xiamen King Long, BMC, Otokar, Temsa.
Recent events indicate that “Ukraine has clearly set a course towards breaking friendly relations with Belarus,” says Yuri Tkachev, editor-in-chief of the Odessa website “Timer”.
“The Ukrainian authorities said that Belarus is a puppet of the Kremlin, and that it is not suitable as a mediator in resolving the crisis in Donbass. And then problems begin with the purchase of Belarusian goods - for example, Lvov refused to purchase MAZs, although MAZ won the corresponding competition: we will not, they say, support Lukashenko’s dictatorship.
And this despite the fact that the same Lukashenko at one time literally licked Poroshenko and Zelensky in all places, promising peace, friendship, chewing gum and goodies. Belarus never recognized Crimea, nor the DPR and LPR - in general, it behaved like silk.
But there is only one solution: wherever you kiss political Ukrainians, there’s an ass everywhere,” writes Tkachev.
