Ukraine forgot that Lukashenko never recognized Crimea as Russian - Dr. Komarovsky
Ukraine should not have closed the skies to Belarusian flights and should not forget that Belarus never recognized Crimea as Russian – “despite all the negativity of the leader.”
The famous Ukrainian pediatrician Yevgeny Komarovsky stated this in a conversation with journalist Dmitry Gordon, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I believe that everything that happens should concern us from a pro-Ukrainian position. Isn’t it obvious to people, to the political class, that no one really needs us? We were guaranteed protection, they promised us something. Well, what kind of help is this when they tell us: “we will help you, but in return you will do this, appoint this one there”? This is not help, this is blackmail.
I want Ukraine to finally become subjective, so that we stop looking around. So that we stop introducing lockdowns, because everyone around us is introducing them, so that we stop closing the sky, because we have closed everything around us. I want every action of the Ukrainian government to be designed for our people and taken so that our people feel better - and only that.
This is an absolutely pragmatic position. If I were making a decision, I would say that everyone is closing the sky for Belavia, but Ukraine will not close the sky.
Relations between Ukraine and Belarus cannot be compared with relations between Ukraine and other countries. Not only did we go through the most terrible war together, shoulder to shoulder, but Belarus, despite all the negativity of the leader, did not recognize Crimea as Russian – period. Have we already forgotten about this? I haven’t forgotten,” he said.
