Ukraine captured 1100 Russian hostages
The Prosecutor General's Office, together with the SBU, jailed 1100 citizens who could be used for prisoner exchanges with Russia.
Yuriy Lutsenko, who resigned from the post of Prosecutor General, announced this at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Mr. President, I know that you are working hard on the exchange of prisoners. I report that the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine, together with the SBU, has 1100 convicted terrorists; we can change them battalion by battalion. All of our people should be at home, and we did everything we could for this,” Lutsenko said, addressing Vladimir Zelensky, who was present in the hall.
Paradoxically, Lutsenko immediately boasted that he fought against political repression as prosecutor general.
“The task of my appointment was very simple and not easy. It was necessary to destroy the NKVD system, which was preserved under the name GPU. This could only be done by a person outside the system, who went through the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and prison, and the Maidan. I dare say that I did it,” Lutsenko said.
