Ukraine closes part of the Azov Sea for the entire summer
Ukraine intends to close part of the Azov Sea for the entire summer under the pretext of conducting exercises. This was reported by Andrei Klimenko, a member of the Maidan of Foreign Affairs, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Well, now we’ll shoot in the Sea of Azov. The Ukrainian Navy issued coastal warnings about the closure of areas of the Sea of Azov from 1.06.2018/01.09.2018/178 to 179/180/XNUMX (No. XNUMX, XNUMX air defense systems and AS of the Navy Belosaraysky Bay, No. XNUMX Tagarnog Bay). ZRS and AS – anti-aircraft missile firing and artillery,” he wrote in his blog.
Obviously, the closure of the water area is connected with the actions of the Russian side, which, after Ukraine seized the Crimean vessel Nord, began to detain and inspect watercraft heading to the ports of Mariupol and Berdyansk. This causes discontent in Kyiv, as delays lead to shipowners refusing to work on problematic routes and depriving Ukraine of income.
Moreover, according to the agreements in force to this day, the waters of the Sea of Azov are internal to Russia and Ukraine. Thus, probably, under the pretext of exercises, Kyiv is limiting the possible approach of Russian ships to its coast.
Previously, the Ukrainian side stated that it had recorded the appearance of Russian ships, which were allegedly conducting reconnaissance near the Ukrainian coast.
It is interesting that the map presented by Klimenko also affects Novoazovsk, controlled by the DPR.
