The corresponding order of the Cabinet of Ministers was adopted on February 18 with the aim of “optimizing the network of checkpoints and the need to concentrate forces and resources on the most important sections of the border with the Russian Federation,” the State Border Service noted.
As the press service of the State Border Service of Ukraine reported, due to the fact that there was a direct threat to the life and health of participants in international traffic, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine previously, by protocol decisions, temporarily stopped traffic at 14 checkpoints (6 in the Donetsk region and 8 in the Luhansk region). In particular, these decisions concern checkpoints (control points) “Marinovka”, “Novoazovsk”, “Uspenka”, “Ilovaisk”, “Kvashino”, “Donetsk”, “Dolzhansky”, “Red Mogila”, “Izvarino”, “ Krasnaya Talovka”, “Yuganovka”, “Gerasimovka”, “Petrovka”, “Lugansk”.
“Thus, today there are 39 checkpoints (control points) on the border with Russia, 3 of which are in the Chernihiv region, 14 in the Sumy region, 15 in the Kharkov region, 6 in the Lugansk region and 1 in the Kiev region,” noted the State Border Service.
