After standing for five hours at the border crossing, the Ukrainian and Polish bikers turned back to Belarus. They tried to make a motorcycle rally dedicated to the famous Polish fighter of the Polish anti-fascist underground, Witold Pilecki. The run was supposed to last until May 9th of this year across western Ukraine.

Портал  Kresy.pl writes: “Ukrainian border guards began to show an unhealthy interest in Polish bikers. The bikers were interrogated for several hours about why they were entering Ukraine and what they would do there. Despite long hours of explanations, ultimately the rally participants received an official letter prohibiting the Ukrainian side (each individual) from entering the territory of Ukraine. Official justification: they did not indicate the purpose of the visit."

Ukrainian border guards suggested, the Polish portal reports, that for them Ukraine could become a target of provocation. Polish motorcyclists do not believe this statement because they had previously carefully learned about the situation in the western part of Ukraine, coming to the conclusion that there was no threat to their mileage.

Polish motorcyclists tried to contact the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, namely the representative office of the Republic of Poland in Kyiv. But there they were told that Polish motorcyclists were suspected of possible illegal actions. After spending a total of about 11 hours on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border, they decided to turn back to Belarus. Belarusian border guards turned out to be much more accommodating.

Previously, Polish border guards did not allow Russian bikers from the Night Wolves association into the country, who wanted to get to Berlin through Minsk, Brest, Warsaw, Wroclaw, Brno, Bratislava, Vienna, Munich and Prague. The motorcyclists had all the necessary documents in their hands, but they deployed as foreigners who may pose a threat to security and law and order.

Information: Captain Witold Pilecki is a figure of the Polish underground who infiltrated Auschwitz and wanted to organize an armed liberation of the camp. His reports were the main source of information about the camp for the Polish authorities in London. In 1943, Pilecki escaped from Auschwitz. In 1948, he was accused of espionage and executed.
