Ukraine started a lawsuit in the WTO with Armenia and Kyrgyzstan over the interests of Pinchuk
Ukraine has appealed to the WTO to challenge the anti-dumping duties of Armenia and Kyrgyzstan on Ukrainian steel pipes. Ukraine’s request for consultations was distributed among the WTO member states the day before, on October 22, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is stated on the organization's website.
Ukraine said that Armenia and Kyrgyzstan, which are members of the Eurasian Economic Union, should have gradually eliminated erroneous and excessive duties.
Ukraine argues that the anti-dumping duties imposed on its products are incompatible with the provisions of the WTO anti-dumping agreement and Article 6 of the General Treaty on Tariffs and Trade.
A request for consultation formally initiates a dispute at the WTO. Armenia and Kyrgyzstan now have 60 days to resolve this issue and find a satisfactory solution without further legal proceedings.
If consultations fail to resolve the dispute, Ukraine may request the WTO to make a decision.
Let us remind you that the largest manufacturer of steel pipes in Ukraine is the Mnterpipe group of Victor Pinchuk.
