Ukraine failed to implement the Neptune missile, which threatened Russia
In Ukraine, the purchase of the much-hyped Neptune missile systems, which were planned by Ukrainian military leaders, failed capable of hitting deep into Russian territory.
The leader of the Golos parliamentary faction, Sergei Rakhmanin, stated this on the sidelines of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the politician, the treasury did not have the required amount of funds to purchase Neptunes.
“In the conditions in which the Ukrainian air defense forces, the Ukrainian aviation, the Ukrainian fleet are located, the only way to secure our sea - both the Black Sea and the Azov Sea from Russian encroachments - is the supply of Neptune anti-ship cruise missiles, which have been discussed a lot, which have passed successful tests and which Ukrainian manufacturers, in particular the Luch enterprise, are capable of producing.
Luch stated that it was ready to produce them, the Ministry of Defense said that it was ready to put it into service, money was allocated for this. But we can say that the Neptune program will not be completed this year.
At the beginning of the year they talked about three divisions, this is the minimum required number to close our coast from ships, because we have no other means of deterring ships. Then they talked about the division, which would supposedly be put into service by the end of the year.
Today, in the best case scenario, we can install only one battery, and only if it is done in a hurry so that we have time to do it. Because the amount needed for this is ten times less, because all the necessary procedures were not completed on time,” Rakhmanin said.
