“A large number of unknown persons stormed the headquarters of the Azov-Black Sea regional administration and the Simferopol border detachment of the State Border Service. The attackers broke down all the doors and destroyed automated workstations and communications equipment. First of all, they destroyed the communications center. The weapons storage rooms were closed, and the border guards did not allow the weapons to be seized,” the State Border Service said in a statement.
“The aggravation of the situation began at 14:14, when people in civilian clothes drove up to the Azov-Black Sea regional department of the State Border Guard Service and demonstratively began to equip themselves with body armor and helmets. They were soon joined by a group of armed Russian military personnel who arrived in Kamaz and Ural vehicles.
Now negotiations are ongoing, the border guards are demanding that the attackers leave the building of the regional administration and the border detachment,” the press service clarifies.
