A Ukrainian will be tried for intentionally killing a peacock - the bird was beaten to death in front of a television camera
The Chernivtsi court chooses a preventive measure for a local resident who beat a peacock to death on camera.
This was reported by the press service of the Chernivtsi regional prosecutor's office.
“Today we informed an 18-year-old resident of the Chernivtsi region about suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 299 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Currently, a petition has been sent to the court to select a preventive measure in the form of detention. We expect a court decision on this matter tomorrow, then a pre-trial investigation and, accordingly, a trial will begin,” the press service of the prosecutor’s office reported.
According to investigators, on June 3, while on vacation, an 18-year-old boy abused a peacock. I purchased the bird in advance.
“Realizing that his actions would cause severe pain to the bird and could cause injury or death, the guy inflicted injuries on him with particular cruelty. This fact became known due to the fact that all the abuse of the peacock was filmed by the suspect’s friends; the video was subsequently published on social networks.”
