Ukrainian will be tried for killing a dog
A Kiev resident will stand trial for the brutal murder of a dog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv prosecutor's office.
“The Kyiv local prosecutor’s office No. 3 sent to court an indictment against a 36-year-old resident of the city of Kyiv for cruelty to an animal, which led to his death,” the department indicated.
As indicated, the incident occurred in the Desnyansky district of Kyiv.
“The suspect, due to a hostile relationship with the owner, used a kitchen knife to strike the animal with a powerful blow in the abdominal area. As a result of the injury, the animal died,” the prosecutor’s office said.
The attacker's actions are qualified under Part 1 of Art. 299 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (cruelty to animals belonging to vertebrates, committed intentionally, which led to the death of the animal).
For this crime, the man faces arrest for up to 6 months or restriction of freedom for up to three years.
