The Polish district prosecutor's office in the city of Chelm (Lublin Voivodeship) is conducting an investigation into an attempt to illegally import gun parts into the country by a citizen of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports with reference to Polish Radio.

According to the press service of the local prosecutor's office, the man was detained.

“He was sent to the prosecutor’s office, where he heard charges relating to carrying weapons without a permit and violating the law on weapons and ammunition,” said Agnieszka Kempka, a spokeswoman for the district prosecutor’s office in Lublin.

It is noted that the detained Ukrainian citizen did not admit his guilt. At the request of the prosecutor's office, the court ordered the temporary arrest of the man. The investigation is ongoing.
