Ukrainians were given the opportunity to “snitch” on neighbors receiving illegal subsidies
The Ministry of Social Policy has launched a “hotline” for complaints about illegal receipt of subsidies by other citizens to pay for housing and communal services, or other government assistance, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was stated by the Director General of the Directorate of Family and Social Support of the Ministry of Social Policy, Vitaly Muzychenko, according to the press service of the department.
“We need to establish feedback. This month, for the first time in the state, we opened a “hotline” where you can complain, where you can provide information about unlawful receipt of social support,” he said.
Muzychenko added that similar “hotlines” operate successfully in most European countries.
“The introduction of such a line, which operates during business hours, gives any citizen who has information that someone is illegally receiving state social assistance, any kind, or that measures have been taken against him by the social protection authorities, social support authorities, which do not comply with the norms of the current legislation , the opportunity to convey this information,” he clarified.
According to him, after receiving this information, checks of the relevant data will be carried out.
“Today, due to an imperfect system of social inspection and control by the state over the use of budget money, a large amount of funds is lost,” he added.
Muzychenko said that, according to a sociological study conducted in Ukraine by the World Bank, approximately 70% of citizens are intolerant of those who receive social assistance illegally.
He reported the hotline number - 0800502757, and also recalled that there is an online register of subsidy recipients - subsidii.ioc.gov.ua, which allows you to see by address whether someone who is registered there is receiving assistance. At the same time, this register does not display other data of residents (for example, full name).
Muzychenko specified that thanks to this register, it became known about cases of receiving two or more subsidies, or when mayors of large cities or owners of elite houses received assistance.
