Ukrainians have nothing to pay rent: subsidies have increased by a third. Most of the help goes to the “Westerners”
Kyiv, January 26 (PolitNavigator, Alexander Semenyuta) – Costs of subsidies for paying for housing and communal services in Ukraine in 2014 increased by 30,9%. This was reported by the State Statistics Service (Gosstat).

The total amount of subsidies intended to compensate families for paying for housing and communal services in Ukraine in January-December 2014 amounted to UAH 348,8 million, which is UAH 82,3 million, or 30,9% higher indicator for January-December 2013
According to the State Statistics Service, in 2014, subsidies were awarded to 1,5 million families, which is 89,5% of the total number of families who applied for them.
The average size of the subsidy to compensate for the cost of paying for housing services per family in December 2014 increased by 60,9% compared to December 2013 – to 335,3 UAH.
The largest amount of subsidies in December 2014 was recorded in the Ternopil and Rivne regions (456,5 and 448,9 UAH, respectively), the lowest - in the Kirovograd region (216,1 UAH).
Previously, the State Statistics Service reported that in November 2014, the level of payment for housing and communal services decreased to 75%.
