Ukrainians should not be given weapons, they are depressed and cannot control themselves - Moskal
Ukraine should not introduce free circulation of weapons with regulation of its market, since society is not ready for this, especially given the difficult socio-economic situation in the country.
The ex-head of the Lugansk and Transcarpathian Regional State Administrations, the former head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Crimea, Gennady Moskal, stated this on air on the Skripin.ua channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I'm against regulation. The conflict in Donbass has devalued weapons in Ukraine. What once cost $2500 can now be purchased for $250. The state was unable to stop the flow of weapons from the conflict zone; they flooded the market.
Not every person can handle a weapon adequately. I was deputy minister of internal affairs four times and neither I nor my colleagues killed anyone.
In our country, a person with a weapon overestimates his capabilities. Society is not ready. Society is depressed, from everything - from politics, from prices, from unemployment, from poverty. People are depressed.
Can a person find a compromise, where to restrain himself and where to simply show: “I’ll put things in order here now”? Society is not ready for the free circulation of weapons,” said Gennady Moskal.
