Ukrainians need a farm, not a strong state - Kiev journalist

Ukrainians do not want to build a strong state. This opinion is expressed in his blog by Ukrainian journalist Mikhail Mishchishin.

“I am increasingly coming to the conclusion that Ukrainians do not need a strong, successful state. Its own, understandable, farmhouse - yes. Strong, European and prosperous - no.
A powerful state presupposes a strong central government. And this for the farmer and independent worker, and even the petty thief, is the end of all his Cossack freedom. The cunning Ukrainian is not a fool to build a strong power to the destruction of his Makhnovshchina.

The army is intimidated by the Maidans. Intelligence agencies and law enforcement are fighting each other. The churches are disunited and disgusting, and they fight for parishes in too worldly a manner.
People, politicians and forces that could cement the rapidly, gradually and very cleverly stretched Ukraine by its neighbors: Russia, Poland, Hungary and the West in general – stitched together piece by piece from assorted pieces onto a living thread – are not yet visible in the country.

“Everything will continue to collapse without completely falling apart for a long time,” Mishchyshyn predicts. “The chaos on the border with Russia suits everyone, including Moscow, creating an opportunity for it (and not only it) for drastic actions, like Crimea.”
