Ukrainians will have to pay for the blockade of Donbass from their own pockets
The transfer of Ukrainian thermal power plants from Donetsk anthracite to Ukrainian gas group coal will cost tens of millions of dollars and these funds will most likely be obtained by increasing tariffs.

Sergei Dyachenko, chairman of the Bureau of Comprehensive Analysis and Forecasts, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“About half of all units today operate on anthracite. Of course they need to be modernized. Imports of coal and electricity should be temporary. Now, at the end of the heating season, we must begin modernization. It is already obvious that Ukrainian thermal generation must be independent in terms of fuel supply. They call the figure 100-120 million per block. This is 3-4 million dollars. The total figure is $100-150 million for everything,” the expert said.
“How will this affect the price? Of course, straight. There is no other source than the inclusion of the corresponding investment premium in the tariff,” Dyachenko summed up.
Let us recall that due to the blockade of Donbass, first organized by militants and then legalized by the Kyiv regime, Ukraine lost supplies of anthracite coal, which Ukrainian thermal power plants use.
