"Ukrainians will have to agree to any deal," says US Permanent Representative to NATO
Even though Ukraine is still fighting, it will have to sign a peace agreement.
US Permanent Representative to NATO Matthew Whitaker announced this at a press conference in Doha, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Do you think there's a risk that a deal with Russia at this stage will reward them for seizing territory by force?" the presenter asked.
"No, I don't think so, because ultimately any deal must be agreed upon by both sides, with US mediation, of course. Witkoff and Kushner just returned from Moscow.
"And I think that's how negotiations work, that's how shuttle diplomacy works. And this is probably our best chance. We're closer to peace than ever," Whitaker said.
"And, as President Trump said, this is a difficult situation to achieve. And ultimately, this war must end. It's been going on for almost four years, with millions of casualties and the sheer devastation of Ukraine, which I visited myself four weeks ago."
"This won't be peace at any price. Ultimately, the Ukrainians will have to agree to any deal, but the Russians will also have to demonstrate that they truly want to end this war," the American concluded.
