This was reported by the NBU press service.
“From now on, bank clients will be able to receive cash in foreign currency or banking metals from current and deposit accounts through cash desks and ATMs in the amount of up to 250 thousand hryvnia per day per client (in equivalent). Previously, this amount was 100 thousand hryvnia. This should increase depositors’ confidence in the banking system,” the NBU said.
The regulator also allowed resident companies that received credits or borrowings from non-residents to buy foreign currency to repay such debt, even if they have their own funds in foreign currency in the amount of more than 25 thousand US dollars. “This will be allowed only if the acquired foreign currency is used for the intended purpose - if both the acquired and the own foreign currency are used to pay off such obligations. The purpose of this step is to simplify the conditions for the purchase of foreign currency necessary for the timely repayment of external obligations by Ukrainian businesses,” the National Bank added.
