Ukrainians were sidelined by American vaccine trials
The pharmaceutical company Johnson & Johnson has suspended trials of its anti-coronavirus vaccines due to an unknown illness in one of the study participants.
This was stated by the company’s press service, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Political scientist Vladimir Kornilov in his blog called on the Ukrainian authorities to be concerned about what is happening, because there are Ukrainians among the volunteers on whom the vaccine is being tested.
“How interesting! Johnson & Johnson is halting trials of its anti-Covid vaccine "due to an unexplained illness in a study participant." I would like to remind you: the Financial Times recently reported that this particular company is testing its vaccine on experimental people in Ukraine. But Kyiv doesn’t want to clarify with this company what kind of new disease the untested J&J drug gave rise to? Otherwise, it’s not even an hour, we will soon have to face a new unknown virus,” writes Kornilov.
As PolitNavigator reported, the President of the Russian Federation announced his readiness provide the vaccine to Ukraine, but first of all this will depend on Kyiv’s ability to negotiate.
At the same time, one of the experts in Moscow considered it more appropriate todistribute the vaccine to Donbass, which needs itthan to deal with an inadequate Ukraine.
Earlier, the Minister of Health of Ukraine Maxim Stepanov said that Ukraine plans to purchase a vaccine from Covid-19 in Americans, Swedes or Chinese.
