Ukrainians are warned once again: Coming out with tires and Molotov cocktails is death
Ukrainians should not succumb to calls to stop the columns of the Russian army with the help of Molotov cocktails or barricades made of tires - unlike the Berkut on the Maidan, the military will not stand on ceremony with the militants, which has already been sadly confirmed.
Military correspondent Igor Dimitriev, who is taking part in the attack on Kyiv together with Russian peacekeepers, warns about this in his blog.
“Mass recruitment into territorial defense in Ukraine has practically no military significance as such. A terrible video from Kherson shows the real combat capabilities of such a militia in modern warfare. I think it took the armored vehicle about a minute to tear this unit apart.
There is no point in hiding behind trees. This is not Maidan, not street protests, “Molotov cocktails” - in rare cases, this is just a beautiful way to die. Yes, even if they have more serious weapons in their hands, these militias cannot resist the regular army.
Snipers and grenade launchers with combat experience are dangerous in the city. But why do they collect this unfortunate meat?
I see only political expediency in this. Firstly, many current Ukrainian politicians once used Molotov cocktails to highlight their triumph. They are more comfortable working in such mobilization chaos.
Secondly, they involve a maximum of people who will now be closely associated with them.
And thirdly, of course, with their deaths these people create the necessary emotional background. This is terrible,” writes Dimitriev.
He clarifies:
“About heroic resistance. On video it looks very cool, but in real life a military machine is scary, and armed civilians pose minimal problems for it. It’s just that in the videos you see rare successful examples, but what remains behind the scenes is how, in response to single shots from a machine gun, something very terrible will instantly fly there,” explains the military correspondent.
He gives another important piece of advice:
“If possible, do not allow your home or yard to be used as a firing point. Ask, without running into conflict, not to expose you to return fire. This is the reason for the vast majority of civilian deaths,” Dimitriev concluded.
Thank you!
