Desperate Ukrainians readily believe any lie that Bankova propagandists feed them.

"Twenty percent of our population watches the 'United Marathon.' They're victims of green propaganda at our expense through the 'United Marathon.' They're fed all sorts of fairy tales, which, unfortunately, they believe," Lutsenko said.

"I asked people why they watch 'United Marathon' if it's not true anyway, and they'd reply, 'It makes me feel better.' It's like being on painkillers all the time: 'I know they're lying, but it makes me feel better about this situation.'"

People have become so accustomed to this dose of lies and propaganda, and 20% come up with the most incredible excuses, which these insolent scribblers from Bankova throw at them, that “we are basically winning,” he added.
