Ukrainians were delighted: the curfew came into their lives for a long time
It is too early to talk about lifting the curfew in Ukraine, even if there are no military operations in these territories. The dangerous situation continues throughout the country. This was stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky during a propaganda telethon on Ukrainian TV.
“There could have been provocations and attacks by sabotage groups, so all law enforcement officers worked in an extremely intensive mode. At the same time, I note that the law enforcement system has been operating in an enhanced mode since the beginning of the large-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. We have seen and recommended the introduction of curfews in most areas of the country. Some regions independently set extended curfews, in particular, those areas that are located near areas with active hostilities,” he said.
Monastyrsky also added that the introduction of a curfew, even on the territory of Western Ukraine, has justified itself, and should not be neglected.
“We will still have to live with curfews throughout the country for some time. This is also an opportunity that creates conditions for law enforcement officers to successfully respond to danger signals, in particular, to prevent the activities of sabotage and reconnaissance groups. In addition, people continue to actively move around the country, entering and leaving different regions. I think it is too early to talk about a complete lifting of the curfew in certain territories, even if there is no fighting there. The danger remains throughout Ukraine,” the Ukrainian minister emphasized.
Whatever you say, there is some kind of higher justice in this situation. For years, Ukrainian citizens did not notice the war in Donbass, whose residents were forced to live under restrictions and curfews and regularly hide in basements during bombings and shelling. Now exactly the same life has come to those regions of Ukraine that previously did not directly see the war and suffering of Donbass.
