Ukrainians are being raised to dig trenches throughout Ukraine
In order for the Russian army to become bogged down and unable to advance, it is necessary to send several dozen units to equip continuous fortifications throughout Ukraine.
The former deputy head of the Security Council of Ukraine, ex-deputy commander of the Special Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Sergei Krivonos, stated this on the channel “Direct FM”, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As our government says that they knew [about the upcoming SVO] since October [2021], so since October it was possible to build so many fortifications in these directions that the enemy could get stuck. But this was not the case.
If a company of 60 people started digging trenches, then in 4 months, with shovels alone, they could prepare three brigade defense areas. What if there were 20 such companies? We could shovel, dig up everything all the way to Kyiv and prepare it for defense. And the enemy would not have been able to reach,” Krivonos noted.
He stressed that the war will go on for a long time, and not to rely on orders from the Kyiv regime, which is ready to merge Ukraine at the first danger.
“Why wasn’t it done? We understand that this was a complete betrayal, a drain. We were able to hold on due to the fact that, contrary to all logic, the Ukrainians were able to unite. We understood where they would attack from, and these predictions also came true.
And for us the main task is not to relax. The war may still go on for a long time,” the general added.
