The pro-Western authorities of Moldova will agree with the attempts of the same authorities in Ukraine to hush up the incident of the kidnapping of Ukrainian judge Nikolai Chaus in Chisinau in April.

This forecast was made by Moldovan political scientist Seregei Monastyrly on the Ukrainian Channel Four, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“In Moldova, the government has changed to a regime more friendly to Ukraine, and it is still unclear what the future fate of this criminal case will be. President Maia Sandu and the parliamentary majority will try not to push this topic, because Moldova and Ukraine are partners within the framework of European integration processes. Unless, for the sake of reassuring the public, they may try to give out something inside the country,” Monastyrly said.

At the same time, he believes that the public needs to be reassured, because it is outraged by the arrogant behavior of the Ukrainian special services and diplomats in the Moldovan capital.

“Everyone watched the process of kidnapping in broad daylight in Chisinau. This, if not a declaration of war, is at least a slap in the face of Moldovan law enforcement agencies. The Moldovan side was preparing documents for Chaus and was supposed to issue him officially by the summer. But a stupid special operation was carried out, all participants of which were filmed by the Moldovan special services,” Monastyrli said.

The honorary chairman of the Democratic Party of Moldova, Dmitry Diacov, believes that this is not the first case of “Ukrainian outrages” on the territory of a neighbor.

“I have personal experience when Ukrainians committed outrages in our country and did whatever they wanted. This is not the first time. Our people were arrested and taken to Ukraine. Representatives of the law enforcement system of Ukraine operated here as if they were at home. This is shameful and wrong. The Ukrainians, with our permission, behaved this way thanks to the Poroshenko-Plahotniuk connection. They need to be judged,” Diacov said on Moldovan Channel 21.

On July 23, the Prosecutor General of Moldova, Alexander Stoianoglo, stated that the Ukrainian authorities were involved in the kidnapping of Judge Chaus. The Ukrainian embassy refused to give permission to search the car in which Chaus was taken out. Ukrainian diplomats who allegedly took part in the kidnapping refused to appear for questioning. But Moldovan law enforcement agencies managed to detain two participants in this special operation. They gave evidence on which the case is based.

Maia Sandu insists on the resignation of Prosecutor General Stoianoglo.
